El Camino College Concert Band to Present “Americana”

The El Camino College Concert Band will present its spring show “Americana” at 8 p.m. May 19 in Marsee Auditorium. 

The performance is directed by Dane Teter and will include works such as “American Barndance” by Richard Saucedo, “Fantasy on American Folk Songs” by Dwayne Milburn, “Hoagy Carmichael: An American Classic” by James Kessler, and “The All-American March” by Chris Sharp.

The ECC Concert Band includes a variety of musicians – from high school students to retirees – who perform the finest traditional and contemporary wind-band literature. Professor Teter is a veteran conductor who has worked with numerous bands, orchestras and choirs from all over the Western United States. He frequently performs in El Camino College Artist-in-Residence recitals with fellow faculty members and local musicians.

Tickets for the performance are $10 and may be purchased online at www.centerforthearts.org using the online ticketing system or by phone at 800-832-ARTS. The Ticket Office is open Monday through Friday 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Campus parking is $3. Marsee Auditorium is located at 16007 Crenshaw Boulevard, Torrance.
