El Camino College Symphony Orchestra to Present Spring Show

The El Camino College Symphony Orchestra will explore the music of ballet at 8 p.m. June 2 in Marsee Auditorium. 

The El Camino College Symphony Orchestra is a college and community orchestra comprised of musicians from ECC – music majors and non-music majors – and community members, covering a myriad of occupations and ages. The group is dedicated to the rehearsal and performance of the finest traditional and contemporary orchestral literature. 

Directed by Dane Teter, the concert will include ballet music from “Le Cid” by Jules Massenet, as well as compositions by Handel, Telemann and Mozart. Soloists from the El Camino College Applied Music Program will also perform: Kayla Atkinson, soprano; Abraham Cervantes, tenor; Lorna Katz, mezzo-soprano; and Miguel Mendez, flute. 

Tickets for the performance are $10 and may be purchased online at www.centerforthearts.org using the online ticketing system or by phone at 800-832-ARTS. The Ticket Office is open Monday through Friday 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Campus parking is $3. Marsee Auditorium is located at 16007 Crenshaw Boulevard, Torrance.
