El Camino College to Present “Synchronous Objects” Dance Performance
El Camino College will present “Synchronous Objects,” an evening of premiering and repertory work by Jessica Kondrath | The Movement. The show is scheduled for set for 8 p.m. July 14 in the Campus Theatre.
Known for their kinetic virtuosity and fluid lyricism, the Los Angeles-based contemporary ballet/modern dance company is led by ECC dance faculty member Jessica Kondrath. This event will also include artwork from Wyoming-based visual artist Diana Baumbach, as well as live music and other guest artists.
Jessica Kondrath | The Movement is based in Long Beach. From its beginnings more than 10 years ago in New York City, the company has performed nationwide, exploring the intimate connection between movement and the musical score. Kondrath is a member of the ECC dance faculty who earned a bachelor’s degree in dance from the University of California, Santa Barbara and a master’s in dance from California State University, Long Beach. She has shown work throughout the country and has had works commissioned by Moorpark College, CSU Long Beach, Santa Monica College, CSU Fullerton, and the dance company MOMENTA, among others.
Tickets for the performance are $10-$21 and may be purchased online at www.centerforthearts.org using the online ticketing system or by phone at 800-832-ARTS. The Ticket Office is open Monday through Thursday 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Campus parking is $3. The Campus Theatre is located at 16007 Crenshaw Boulevard, Torrance. Student, senior and group discounts are available. The Ticket Office opens at least one hour before events.
