Ljubomir Velickovic Featured in “Fall Colors” Concert at El Camino College

The El Camino College Center for the Arts welcomes violinist Ljubomir Velickovic, who will present an evening of chamber music titled “Fall Colors” at 5 p.m. Nov. 9 in Haag Recital Hall. The concert will celebrate the fall season represented by different keys, colors, styles, and music from Vivaldi, Boccherini, and Spanish classical quintets accompanied by guitar and dance.

Velickovic is an ECC faculty member and accomplished violinist with considerable international experience, performing as a soloist and in chamber music groups around the world. He is assistant concertmaster of the Stockton Symphony and first violinist of the Sacramento Philharmonic. Velickovic is also founder and director of Divertimento Chamber Music Group. He earned a doctorate in musical arts in violin performance from the University of Texas at Austin.

In “Fall Colors,” Velickovic will be joined by guest artists LaVette M. Allen, viola; Wendy Velasco, cello; Connie Deeter, double bass; and Gideon Rubin, piano. The program will include Vivaldi’s “Autumn” from “The Four Seasons,” Piazzolla’s fall concerto from “The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires,” Boccherini’s “Procession of the Military Night Watch in Madrid,” “Hedwig's Theme” from “Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone,” and more. 

Tickets are $10-$21 and may be purchased at www.centerforthearts.org using the online ticketing system or by phone at 800-832-ARTS. The Ticket Office is open Monday through Friday 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Campus parking is $3. El Camino College is located at 16007 Crenshaw Boulevard, Torrance.
