Rawlins Piano Trio to Perform at El Camino College

The El Camino College Center for the Arts will present a performance by the Rawlins Piano Trio at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 27 in the Campus Theatre.

This dynamic group of performers, teachers and scholars is known as a preeminent interpreter of American music. The Rawlins Piano Trio presents a diverse repertoire, ranging from standard works to new and undiscovered pieces. The special performance planned for El Camino College will include works by Ilan Rechtman, Paul Frucht and Felix Mendelssohn.

Members include violinist Ioana Galu, cellist Sonja Kraus and pianist Susan Keith Gray, who are in residence at the University of South Dakota. Their versatility as artists and enthusiastic teachers finds them equally comfortable in outreach to school children, in master classes with young artists and in performances for a variety of concert audiences. The ensemble has recorded five CDs of their work and has performed in prestigious venues such as Sejong Chamber Hall in Seoul, South Korea; Chiang-Kai-Shek Cultural Center in Kaohsiung, Taiwan; Teatro Anita Villalaz for the Fundación Sinfonía Concertante de Panamá; and national conferences of the College Music Society and Chamber Music America.

Tickets are $10-$21 and may be purchased at www.centerforthearts.org using the online ticketing system or by phone at 800-832-ARTS. The Ticket Office is open Monday through Friday 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Campus parking is $3. El Camino College is located at 16007 Crenshaw Boulevard, Torrance.
