South Bay Ballet’s “The Nutcracker” Returns to El Camino College’s Marsee Auditorium

“The Nutcracker” returns to El Camino College for the holidays, bringing the magic of the season to Marsee Auditorium. The South Bay Ballet performs this delightful holiday favorite that tells the story of a young girl on Christmas Eve, dreaming of her Nutcracker Prince escorting her to the Kingdom of Sweets where she becomes a beautiful ballerina. Performances are scheduled for 2 p.m. Dec. 21 and 22.

Under the artistic direction of Diane Lauridsen and Elijah S. Pressman of the South Bay Ballet, the show has become a holiday tradition at El Camino College. The nationally known dance company brings more than 100 dancers to the stage, performing Charles Maple’s choreography to Tchaikovsky’s original score. Impeccably trained artists and a creative, accessible interpretation of the classic tale create a festive holiday treat for the entire family.

Tickets for the performance range from $24-$36 and may be purchased online at www.centerforthearts.org using the online ticketing system or by phone at 800-832-ARTS. The Ticket Office is open Monday through Friday 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Campus parking is $3. Marsee Auditorium is located at 16007 Crenshaw Boulevard, Torrance.
