HOW IT WORKS: ONE-ON-ONE
All our tutoring is drop-in; no appointments are necessary! When you join our Zoom waiting room, you’ll meet individually and privately with the next available tutor. (You might have to wait a few minutes, depending on how busy we are, but we’ll try to keep the wait to a minimum.) Finally, anything you can bring, such as an assignment sheet, an in-process draft, and/or specific question(s) will help us as we work to help you, so come prepared! For more about how to make the most of your tutoring session, click here.
HOW IT WORKS: QUICK QUESTIONS
If you have a quick question, email it to us and a tutor will get back to you, typically within two working days. Quick questions might be about grammar, sentence structure, or citation. However, if you ask a complex question like “Is this a good thesis for my essay?” or “Can you give me your thoughts on this draft?” we will be happy to direct you to the Zoom waiting room for a one-on-one session.
HOW IT WORKS: WORKSHOPS
Throughout the semester, we will offer a variety of virtual (Zoom) workshops to be led by tutors and/or faculty members. Workshops will cover a range of topics, from essay format and development to editing techniques to much more! Workshops are open to any and all students--simply join us and learn!
HOW IT WORKS: EMBEDDED TUTORING
A tutor is assigned to every section of English 1AS to work specifically with the students enrolled in that section. Tutors work with the professors to develop the best approach to helping students produce quality writing.
