Gary Pritchard

Gary Pritchard is currently the Instructional Dean of Fine Arts and Mass Communications at Cerritos College. He has been a Dean at Cerritos College since 2012. Prior to his administrative appointments, Pritchard served as a Professor of Music History and Ethnomusicology at Cerritos College for 14 years and as an adjunct and visiting lecturer at UC Irvine in the School of Social Sciences and The Claire Trevor School of the Arts; and Cal State Long Beach.

Pritchard completed the inaugural ALIVE Deans’ Academy through the California Community Colleges Chief Instructional Officers and the Management Development Program (MDP) at Harvard University, Graduate School of Education. He holds a Ph.D. in the Social Sciences from UCI, M.A. in Music from the Claremont Graduate School, and a B.Mus. from Chapman University. Pritchard was also a three-term Governing Board Member and Past-President of the Board of Trustees for one of the largest district school Districts in the State of California.
