Meet Linda Detwiler

 

Hired: January 2002

 

Hobbies: Music, scrapbooking, cycling, hiking, traveling, and photography, among others!

 

Little Known Fact: Linda plays guitar in a band and competed in two bike marathons in 2008.

 

When Linda Detwiler joined the ECC Financial Aid Office as an ITS support technician eight years ago, she had no idea how her new job would affect her life. Not only did she make great friends while working with a creative and dedicated team, she adopted her kitten through a co-worker and saved a lost puppy she found on campus.

 

Taking photography classes at the college rekindled Linda’s lifelong interest in her hobby. She recently earned a finalist status in the Easy Reader Photo Contest 2010. Her winning photograph was on exhibit at contest sponsor Paul's Photo in Torrance. In addition, she is currently preparing for an upcoming photo exhibit scheduled for December in the Schauerman Library.

 

“With all the things I do, I try to balance my schedule, but I get so busy at times,” Linda said. “I am having a good time trying to do it all. I’ve enjoyed the opportunity to work with such great people here at El Camino College. We have a lot of fun and get the job done.”
