Science Club Spring Recess Adventure

The ECC Science Club spent spring break on an educational trip to a few state and national parks in Nevada and Utah. A record 36 students joined this excursion, including both science majors and non-STEM majors. The group camped in Valley of Fire State Park in Nevada and Zion National Park in Utah. Stops were also made at Kelso Dunes and Bryce Canyon National Park. In addition to studying geological and natural wonders, students saw bighorn sheep, lizards, Steller's jays, squirrels and even a little bit of leftover winter snow – for some, this was their first snow experience! Professor Joseph Holliday led the trip, along with earth science instructor Kevin Coffey, math professor Sue Bickford and biology professor Margaret Steinberg.
