Safety Matters
Assistance Programs: We're Here to Help!
Assistance is available to students and employees who need support. The safety and well-being of our El Camino College community is always a top priority and resources are in place for anyone who is feeling anxious or stressed. The Student Health Center offers students an integrated approach to health care, where physical and psychological health is evaluated and treated in a supportive environment. Students can attend the De-Stress for Survival Group, which meets every Wednesday from noon-12:45 p.m. in the Student Services Center, Room 106. Fall Wellness Workshops are also open to students, covering a variety of topics.
Employees have access to EASE, an employee assistance program that provides free, confidential help for employees and their immediate family members. Confidential face-to-face counseling, phone consultations and community referrals that focus on family troubles, emotional distress, drug/alcohol problems, job anxiety/stress, and grief/loss transitions are just some of the services offered. If long-term assistance is needed, counselors can help locate an appropriate specialist, self-help group, or other community resource. Services are available at no cost to employees. If given a referral to a community resource, that resource may have a fee. Information is available from the Human Resources Office, or you may call EASE directly at 800-882-1341.
