ECC Woodworking

ECC Woodworking Program student Chung-Mau Cheng is a finalist in the Association of Woodworking & Furnishings Suppliers (AWFS) 2015 Fresh Wood Student Competition.  Chung-Mau’s project, Swan Music Stand, was selected from 169 total entries from across the US and Canada.

AWFS is a national association that sponsors the Fresh Wood woodworking competition for students for the purpose of showcasing new woodworking talent to a national trade show audience. Outstanding construction and design achievements by student finalists from leading woodworking programs in North America will be prominently displayed at AWFS’s trade show in Las Vegas in late July.

The El Camino College Construction Technology / Cabinet and Fine Woodworking  programs offer students the opportunity to earn degrees and certificates, along with participating in career opportunities involving various aspects of construction, including carpentry, cabinetmaking, furniture making, a variety of sub-crafts, and contracting.
