The Strategic Planning Committee met Feb. 1 to continue its efforts to help shape a long-range look into the future of El Camino College in anticipation of student and community needs. After a welcome from President Dena Maloney, Vice President of Student Services Ross Miyashiro led a discussion to review and affirm the college's current mission, vision, and values. Carolyn Pineda from Institutional Research & Planning offered an update on institutional effectiveness (IE) outcomes, as well as a demonstration of student success metrics. Vice President Miyashiro also presented information about Educational Master Plan Implementation and a theme for the upcoming Planning Summit later this spring.
Thank you to Strategic Planning Committee members for contributing to this important process as our planning continues to align with the college's mission. ECC has a commitment to provide a comprehensive college to the residents and students of our district. Through strategic planning, we can review strengths and weaknesses, assess critical issues, and examine the important role El Camino College plays in educating future generations of students.
