Welcome New Managers

We are pleased to welcome two new managers to the El Camino College community. Please take some time to say hello to Viviana Unda and Scott Kushigemachi!

Viviana Unda, director of Institutional Research & Planning. Viviana Unda most recently served as the executive director for research network collaboration at Laureate Education in Redondo Beach. She comes to El Camino College with experience as a university professor, curriculum consultant and academic research director. She has a doctorate in applied linguistics from UCLA, in addition to a master's degree in linguistics and bachelor's degrees in secondary education and Spanish, all from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.
Scott Kushigemachi, associate dean, Humanities. Scott Kushigemachi earned his master's degree in English from California State University, Long Beach. He was named interim associate dean in August 2018 and has been at ECC since August 2010 as an instructor of English and tenured associate professor since August 2014. His involvement on campus includes co-coordinating the Basic Skills Initiative; co-writing the Educational Master Plan; and serving on committees for AB705, Guided Pathways, and Strategic Planning.
