Counselor Collaborative
PRIDE Session II

The Office of Counseling and Student Success recently sponsored the Second Annual Counselor Collaborative. Nearly 100 high school and middle school counselors, program coordinators, directors, and other staff who work with prospective El Camino College students came together to learn about various ECC programs and processes. Time was also available for ECC counselors to interact in a collaborative session to discuss student success and other themes. Participants learned about various ECC programs such as transfer services, learning communities, concurrent enrollment and advanced placement. Additional discussions covered supporting student success through SSSP and priority enrollment, as well as helping students prepare via assessment/placement. Breakout sessions included topics such as undocumented and non-resident students, athletics, services for students with disabilities, and CTE programs. The event also featured a resource fair of campus services.
