El Camino College will present the 29th Athletic Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony at 5 p.m. Thursday, May 23 in the East Dining Room. Thirteen individual inductees and one team selection will be honored at the event, spanning nine different sports and more than 65 years of excellence in athletic pursuits.
Inductees for 2019 include: David Austin, diving, 2008-09; Vic Buttler, baseball, 2000; Charlie Brown, track and field, 1976-77; Lawanda Cabell-Simmons, track and field, 1984; Matt Engle, football, 2003; Rochelle Esparza, volleyball, 1997-98; Coy Hall, football, 1971; Dan Hatano, wrestling, 1982-83; Ralph Hughes, football, 1963; Jon Robertson, football, 1968; Latario Rachal, football, 1991-92; Erica Shaw, water polo and swimming, 2007, 2009; Chun Young-Shin, tennis, 2012-13; and the 1950 Warriors football team.
The ECC Athletic Hall of Fame honors athletes, coaches, and other distinguished individuals who deserve recognition for their outstanding accomplishments in athletics and for their support of the El Camino College athletic program.
