Enrollment Management
Youth Summer Programs Offered at ECC
El Camino College will offer several free summer education and enrichment opportunities for area youngsters this summer. High school students can get a jump on their college degree by participating in ECC's Concurrent Enrollment or Dual Enrollment programs. Both offer opportunities to enroll in no-cost college classes. In addition, students in grades one-12 are invited to enjoy a summer of wonder with a variety of classes from Community Education. Participants are encouraged to register as soon as possible for "Kid's College," a program featuring inspiring, fun and enriching classes that runs July 1-August 9. Enroll now at www.ECCommunityEd.com.
Enrollment is also now open for STEM Training and Robotics Technology (START), an eight-week summer program supported by Chevron and designed to inspire ECC and high school students to pursue STEM careers. The 2019 START program will introduce students to the principles and operation of conventional and computer numerical controlled (CNC) machine tools with an emphasis on the safety and setup of hand tools, power saws, drilling machines, lathes, and other industry equipment. Students will be enrolled in Machine Tool Technology 101, a four-unit class that transfers to CSU and fulfills a requirement for an ECC engineering technology degree. Other program highlights include a tour of Northrop Grumman Corporation and the option to complete National Institute of Manufacturing Standards (NIMS) Drill Press I certification. A toolbox with essential tools will be awarded to each student after successful course completion. For more information, contact Karen Latuner at 310-977-3674 or [email protected]. .
