One-Stop Program and Registration Day Help Hundreds of Students
Student services collaborated this past summer to organize a successful Summer One-Stop program that resulted in more than 400 students coming to campus for enrollment assistance. Designed to help new students complete orientation, assessment, and educational planning in one day, the six-week Summer One-Stop ran July 5-August 9. At the end of the program, 302 students were assessed, 420 completed educational plans, and nearly 70 students completed an in-person orientation.
In addition, "Registration Day" on August 17 welcomed nearly 130 students who were able to complete testing, educational planning, orientation, and registration. The goal was to assist students in completing all core services and register for their fall classes all in one day. Counselors were on hand to help students and answer questions, while representatives from Outreach and School Relations coordinated assessment proctoring and ambassadors also helped throughout the day. Nearly all the students in attendance received registration assistance.
Thanks to Outreach and School Relations, Counseling and Student Success (in particular the RISE Center), and Assessment & Testing for their work in making both programs a great success, helping hundreds of students access El Camino College academic and support programs.
