The fall 2017 semester marks the opening of Lot F and Lot C, adding 3,127 parking spaces to the campus. In addition to the increased parking opportunities, El Camino College provides access to several alternative modes of transportation to get to and from campus.
Discounted Los Angeles Metro U-Passes for students will be available for sale at the Bookstore this fall. LA Metro representatives will be on campus through Sept. 8 to answer questions and help with the online application. ECC students who purchase a Metro U-Pass will be able to ride on the Metro, including Metro Express Buses and the Metro Silver Line, as well as the GTrans (Gardena bus lines) and Torrance Transit. The Metro U-Pass provides nearly 70 percent in savings, compared to a Metro 30-Day Pass with Zones. The additional bonus of unlimited rides on GTrans and Torrance Transit (which the Metro 30-Day Pass does not offer) makes the U-Pass an especially good value. For more information view www.elcamino.edu/about/metroupass.
We have also worked with Uber and Lyft to identify drop-off locations around campus to make the commute to ECC even easier. View the Alternative Transportation Map for more information. Of course, we also encourage everyone to use different ways to get to ECC: Walking, biking, carpooling and public transportation are all great ideas and can help alleviate the stress of driving and parking.
