El Camino College will open a new food pantry early this fall! Through the leadership of the Student Equity Advisory Council, Associated Students Organization, and the Inter-Club Council, with the support from the Student Development Office and Student Equity Program, the "El Camino College Warrior Pantry" will provide food items to students who are struggling with hunger. A number of ECC students face serious financial challenges, and often find it difficult to support themselves while also paying for college. Some students are forced to choose between paying for classes and rent or eating healthy. Unable to afford nutritious food, their physical health, mental well-being and academic performance are at risk.

We need your help! In order to assist students with hunger needs, we are asking ECC employees to donate healthy and nutritious nonperishable food items to help stock the shelves of the Warrior Pantry. Please see the flyer for donation locations. Can't get to the store to purchase food items? We've got you covered - monetary donations are also welcome, via this link. Thank you to those who generously donated food during Professional Development Day!

The Warrior Pantry will be located in Physics 116, with an anticipated opening during early fall 2017. A grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony with the El Camino Community College District Board of Trustees is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. Monday, October 16. Currently enrolled students must present their student ID to receive the benefits of the Warrior Pantry. Thank you in advance for your generosity and support of our students.
