Hundreds of Students Participate in Registration Programs
Several student services collaborated this past summer to help students get ready for the new academic year. Extended hours in student services departments were also available.
A successful Summer One-Stop program brought nearly 600 students to campus for enrollment assistance. Designed to help new students complete the three core services (orientation, assessment and educational planning), participants were also able to register for classes with help from Ambassadors – all in one day! The six-week Summer One-Stop program ran July 3-August 8.
Registration Fest events throughout the summer were successful in giving more than 350 students the opportunity to receive assistance registering for classes for the fall 2018 semester.
Fall Registration Day on Aug. 18 helped more than 100 students looking to complete the Steps to Enrollment (Orientation, Assessment, Educational Plan, Register for Classes). The goal for the Saturday event was to assist students complete all core services and register for fall classes in just one day. Counselors were on hand to help students and answer questions, while representatives from Outreach and School Relations coordinated assessment proctoring. Ambassadors also helped throughout the day. Nearly all the students in attendance received registration assistance.
Prep for Fall days Aug. 20-22 welcomed new El Camino College students and made sure they had everything they needed to be ready for the fall semester, such as a student ID card, a parking permit and books. Students were also able to meet with a counselor, pay fees and take a campus tour with their class schedule in hand so they could locate their classrooms.
