Welcome New Managers
Please take a moment to welcome El Camino College's newest managers.
Julieta O. Arámburo, Director of Outreach and School Relations. An ECC alumna, Julieta O. Arámburo joined the staff in 2004 and has served in the offices of Financial Aid, Outreach and School Relations, Counseling and Student Success and as coordinator of the RISE Center. Arámburo transferred to the University of California, Berkeley where she earned a bachelor's degree in sociology and went on to earn a master's in social work from California State University, Dominguez Hills.
Debra Breckheimer, Dean, Humanities. Debra Breckheimer earned her master's degree in English from California State University, Dominguez Hills. She has been at El Camino College since January 1993 as an adjunct instructor of English and tenured professor since August 1996. Prior to this new assignment, Breckheimer served as interim faculty coordinator and interim dean of humanities. Her involvement on campus includes serving on numerous committees such as the Academic Senate, Basic Skills Initiative, Division Load, and English Task Force.
Jorge Gutierrez, Executive Director of Facilities Planning, Operations and Construction. Jorge Gutierrez graduated from San Bernardino Valley College before transferring to UC Santa Barbara, where he earned a bachelor's degree. He also earned a master's degree from UCLA. Gutierrez most recently was director of facilities and operations with Torrance Unified and is a former board member of the Cabrillo Economic Development Corporation, a nonprofit that provides affordable housing for low- and moderate-income families and farm workers.
Scott Kushigemachi, Interim Associate Dean, Humanities. Scott Kushigemachi earned his master's degree in English from California State University, Long Beach. He has been at El Camino College since August 2010 as an instructor of English and tenured associate professor since August 2014. His involvement on campus includes serving on the Basic Skills Initiative, African American Student/KEAS Advisory Committee, Student Success Advisory Committee, Male Men of Color Initiative, Asian American Pacific Islander Equity Initiative, Summer Institute for Developmental Education, and College Curriculum Committee.
Marlow Lemons, Associate Dean, Mathematical Sciences. Marlow Lemons comes to El Camino College with 12 years of diverse teaching and leadership experience from community colleges and university systems. He was recently professor and chair for the Department of Mathematics and Physics at Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology in Boston. Marlow earned a bachelor's degree in mathematics from Georgia Southern University, a master's degree in statistics from the University of Georgia, and a doctorate in educational research and evaluation from Virginia Tech.
Michael Pascual, Director of Purchasing and Risk Management. Michael Pascual comes to ECC from Los Angeles County, Access Paratransit Services (Access) and before that he worked with the City of Los Angeles Department of Transportation. He is an attorney with many years of experience in purchasing and risk management. Pascual earned a bachelor's degree from Briar Cliff University in Iowa, a master's degree from USC and a Juris Doctor degree from Western State University College of Law.
