When El Camino College made the swift transition to remote learning in March, faculty and staff quickly adjusted into this platform, which was a first for many. The college remains primarily in a distance learning format for fall 2020. In response, a record number of more than 450 faculty have engaged in training that leads to online certification, with over 200 certified for teaching online courses in advance of fall 2020. These numbers are on top of the many faculty members who were already certified but participated in additional ECC Department of Online and Digital Education training opportunities to update their skills or learn a new tool they hadn't been using. Numerous faculty have also completed training to support Live Online courses. El Camino's Department of Online and Digital Education is available to provide training and certification, in addition to support for instructors by offering tools to help in the planning, design, and delivery of online courses. Training sessions, workshops, and online conferences are just a few of the resources faculty can access.
