Student Health and Wellness Resources

El Camino College's Student Health Services recently moved to the Student Support Services Division and continues to provide virtual telemedicine and telemental health services to eligible students this fall. Support groups and workshops on a variety of topics are available, including a mental health support group for Spanish speakers.

Statewide, a lack of easy access to mental health services is a top concern for students across the California Community Colleges. For many students, limited access to medical care—including mental health services—is a significant barrier to success. New this year, El Camino has contracted with ProtoCall, the nation's leading provider of telephone-based mental health triage, intervention, and stabilization services, in an effort to connect students with expert assistance after Student Health Services has closed for the evening or weekend. ProtoCall's counselors will provide in-the-moment support to ECC students using a brief, solution-focused approach. Rather than waiting for a call back from an on-call provider, a student's call is answered directly by a credentialed mental health professional. The additional after-hours tele-service ensures mental health resources are in place and available immediately, no matter when our students need them.
