The El Camino College teacher preparation program was recently reinstated and is now accepting new students. TEACH El Camino is a group of dedicated faculty and staff members committed to the success of future educators. All facets of education are covered, including teaching from preschool to university levels, special education, speech/language pathology, school administration, school counseling, school psychology, school social work, school librarians, school nurses, child welfare and attendance officers, and career/technical educators.
Students enrolled in TEACH El Camino have access to a variety of support services designed to enhance their career success, including specialized counseling/advising, transfer agreements with local universities, guided pathways, a Future Educators' Club, a teacher resource room, paraprofessional experiences, fieldwork, dedicated program faculty, professional development opportunities (such as conferences and workshops), access to campus and community resources, a quarterly newsletter, and a comprehensive website. Prospective students can apply to TEACH El Camino year-round.
