ECC Connect Awards and Updates
Congratulations to all those honored at an all-star reception on Sept. 25 where multiple faculty and staff members were recognized as the most active users of the ECC Connect early alert system during 2017-2018. With this system, early alert progress surveys can be sent to students at weeks No. 4 and No. 9 during the fall and spring terms. Faculty can opt to sign up for the progress survey and/or raise tracking items at any time. Kudos can be sent to applaud good or improving work; flags can be sent if there are concerns regarding performance, attendance or otherwise; and referrals can be made to counseling, student services, financial aid, and tutoring. Gold, silver and bronze awards were distributed at the reception, based on usage:

In addition, a traveling trophy was created that will be given annually to the division with the greatest usage by percentage of personnel. For 2017-2018, the Humanities Division took this distinction, with 12 active users who raised 543 total tracking items: 135 flags, 266 kudos, and 142 referrals. Sabra Sabio was also honored for her contributions at the college and statewide level on the Education Planning Initiative. Edel Martinez, Marci Myers Mojica and Linda Gallucci were recognized for their contributions on the implementation and support team for ECC Connect. Many thanks also went to ITS staff members for their support at all levels of this program, from the beginning through present day.

The next step for ECC Connect during this semester is to create an intake form for students as a way to help early intervention become earlier and support retention efforts. In addition, midterm progress reports are currently in a pilot phase by select cohort programs in an effort to streamline the process.
