Celebrate Filipino History!
El Camino College will celebrate Filipino-American History Month with events through October. All are invited to share the stories and culture of the Filipino-American community! A "Filipino Book Club" is set for 2:30-3:30 p.m. Oct. 18 in the Decathlon Room. Students and faculty are encouraged to engage in complex and insightful discussions about the book "America Is in the Heart" by Carlos Bulosan. Complimentary Filipino food will be served at this event! A "Filipino Movie Night" follows from 4-7 p.m. Oct. 25 in the East Dining Room. This event, held in collaboration with Scene One Film Club, will engage students through the showing of "The Debut" as a way to promote and understand Filipino culture and history.
