El Camino College recently celebrated the 50th anniversary of Extended Opportunity Programs and Services (EOPS) in the California Community Colleges system. EOPS is a comprehensive program that supports the enrollment, retention, and transfer of students who face language, social, economic, and educational challenges. Established on September 4, 1969 with Senate Bill 164, EOPS has motivated, supported and empowered millions of students statewide to pursue their educational and personal goals. ECC’s EOPS program is the seventh largest in the California Community Colleges system, and assists students with counseling, book vouchers, grants, tutoring and more!
