Welcome New Staff
Please take some time to welcome the new full-time staff members who joined El Camino College during the 2016-17 academic year through September 2017.
Sara Abbani, Laboratory Technician II, Natural Sciences. Sara most recently worked as a biocurator/consultant for the Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics in Geneva, Switzerland. She also has experience as a research associate at UCLA. She earned a bachelor's degree in biochemistry and molecular biology from CSU Northridge.
April Bernabeo, Senior Clerical Assistant, Special Resource Center. April is an El Camino College alumna who continued her education at UCLA, earning a bachelor's degree in sociology. She has worked in student services at ECC for the past several years, assisting SRC staff with various projects.
Kathleen Cottle, Administrative Assistant II, Counseling & Student Success. Kathleen most recently served as executive assistant to the president of Junior Achievement of Arizona. She has additional experience in various positions, providing program management support. Kathleen earned a bachelor's degree in marketing from the University of Wyoming.
Cynthia Escutia, Administrative Assistant II, Academic Affairs. An El Camino College alumna, Cynthia transferred to California State University, Long Beach and earned a bachelor's degree in home economics/early childhood education. Her career experience includes positions as a judicial secretary and a legal secretary.
Jetta Franklin, Secretary, Counseling & Student Success. A graduate of El Camino College, Jetta has an administrative background in areas such as records management database maintenance, bookkeeping, scheduling and training. She also has experience as a billing analyst and front office coordinator.
Erika Lytle, Laboratory Technician II, Natural Sciences. An ECC graduate, Erika continued her education at CSU Dominguez Hills, where she earned a bachelor's in ecology and environmental biology. She served as a supplemental instruction coach/leader at ECC and CSU Dominguez Hills for the past several years and has experience as a teaching assistant and research assistant.
Paul Pham, Programmer Analyst, Information Technology Services. Paul joins the El Camino College staff following a position where he most recently served as an information technology consultant. He earned a bachelor's degree in information and computer science from the University of California, Irvine.
Janet Quezada, Senior Clerical Assistant, Mathematical Sciences. Janet earned an associate degree at El Camino College before transferring to CSU Dominguez Hills where she completed a bachelor's degree in sociology. Her career experience includes serving as a group practice administrator at UCLA, as well as positions in private industry.
Lisa Tam, Administrative Assistant II, Public Relations & Marketing. Lisa is an alumna of El Camino College. She has more than 15 years of administrative professional experience, most recently working with court reporting firms and in property management in the Harbor Area and South Bay.
