Assistance programs for students and employees

The safety and well-being of our El Camino College community is always a top priority. For those who need support, ECC has resources for anyone who is feeling anxious or stressed from recent events. Students are encouraged to reach out to the professionals at the Student Health Center for assistance in a supportive environment. Students can also join the new Trauma Recovery Support Group, which meets from noon-12:45 p.m. Mondays in the Decathlon Room. This group meeting is free and gives students an opportunity to discuss their thoughts and feelings, as well as offering coping and healing techniques.

Employees have access to EASE, an employee assistance program that provides free, confidential help for employees and their immediate family members. Confidential face-to-face counseling, phone consultations and community referrals that focus on family troubles, emotional distress, drug/alcohol problems, job anxiety/stress, and grief/loss transitions are just some of the services offered. If long-term assistance is needed, counselors can help locate an appropriate specialist, self-help group, or other community resource. Services are available at no cost to employees. If given a referral to a community resource, that resource may have a fee. Information is available from the Human Resources Office, or you may call EASE directly at 800-882-1341.
