The college's Salute to Veterans Week featured a variety of activities in honor of Veterans Day on Nov. 11. The week began with an open house for the Veterans Resource Center in the new Student Services building. A Green Zone event followed, where a veteran student panel shared experiences and answered questions with faculty and staff. A Salute to Veterans Luncheon provided the finale, with special guest retired U.S. Army Major General Peter Gravett as the featured speaker. Sponsored by ECC Veterans Services, Salute to Veterans Week activities were designed to recognize, thank, and support all El Camino College students, faculty, staff and managers who served our country.
President Maloney had an opportunity to visit the newly opened Veterans Resource Center in the new Student Services building, joining Dean Idania Reyes for lunch and conversations with veteran students. El Camino College is proud to serve more than 260 student veterans on campus. Our Veterans Resource Center offers support, referrals and resources – both at the college and in the community.
