El Camino College students recently visited the offices of Congress members in conjunction with Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) Advocacy Week, a statewide effort to share information and outreach regarding resources for undocumented and/or AB 540 students. FYE Faculty Coordinator Cynthia Mosqueda accompanied the students to the local offices of Congresswoman Karen Bass and Student Development Office Student Services Specialist Chris Dela Cruz joined students at Congressman Ted Lieu's office. Also as part of DACA Advocacy Week, ECC sponsored a "Dare to Dream" event on Oct. 24. Representatives from five four-year universities came to campus and shared information about university support available, including legal and financial resources for students.
