2017 Distance Education Institute
ECC and Compton College faculty are invited to attend the 2017 El Camino College Distance Education Institute, set for 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Nov. 17 in the East Dining Room. Sponsored by the ECC Distance Education program, this event will offer innovative ideas and resources to inspire participants to try something new in an existing course or to add a special element to a new class.

The keynote speaker for the Distance Education Institute is Fabiola Torres, who will also be a breakout session panelist. Ms. Torres is an ethnic studies instructor, Online Education Initiative Advisory Committee co-chair, and online education advocate. She will present "Making Learning Matter: Design with Intention." The event will also include an Online Teaching Technology Showcase highlighting a broad array of resources to engage students, enhance learning, enrich instructor interaction with students, and monitor student progress, featuring platforms such as Starfish, Cranium Café, Google Slides, adaptive learning with Macmillan Launchpad, and Shells and Proctorio from Canvas.

Fall 2017 College Night

College Night

El Camino College's Fall 2017 College Night is set for Nov. 15. This event will highlight the college's many academic opportunities and student support resources. All prospective students, parents, adult learners, educators and community members are invited to attend between 5:30 and 8 p.m. The open house event features a variety of workshops, a resource fair and twilight campus tours. Free parking will be available in Lot C (levels 1 and 2) and Lot F.
