Nearly 140 partners from business, education, government, and the community attended El Camino's second annual State of the College luncheon on Nov. 15 in the East Dining Room. This event offered the opportunity to spotlight the many programs and resources available to students as they pursue the education and training needed to transfer and/or enter the workforce. Superintendent/President Dena P. Maloney discussed how El Camino College remains committed to providing an accessible, affordable education that develops future leaders. She also focused on the cutting-edge, design-related academic programs that are an important part of South Bay's industry and fuel the Los Angeles region's economic growth. A panel of alumni currently working in design and digital media fields provided additional insight into these fast-changing fields.
Attendees included California State Senator Steven Bradford, El Segundo City Council Member Don Brann, field representatives from county, state and federal elected officials, Torrance Unified School District Superintendent George Mannon, and Centinela Valley Union High School District Superintendent Gregory O'Brien. Guests also received the college's 2019 Annual Report.
