EEO Subcommittee Members Needed

The Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Advisory Committee is seeking members to serve on six subcommittees. The groups are charged with implementing the EEO Plan and fostering diversity and inclusion in our workforce. California state law requires community colleges to have "a workforce that is continually responsive to the needs of a diverse student population, which may be achieved by ensuring that all persons receive an equal opportunity to compete for employment and promotion within the community college district and by eliminating barriers to equal employment opportunity." The subcommittees include the following areas: recruitment, job announcements, measures of underrepresentation, EER/committee member training, climate survey, and guest speakers/workshops/events/training.

All those interested in becoming a member of any of the subcommittees should contact Jaynie Ishikawa, director, staff & student diversity. The insight, participation and support from committee members are critical to the work and implementation of our EEO Plan and are much appreciated.
