ECC Helping Others: Healthy Living Collection Drive
healthy living
A new ECC task force will focus on meeting the needs of homeless students on campus. The group's first activity is a "Healthy Living Collection Drive." This campus and communitywide toiletries drive is designed to collect hygiene items for student use. Donations of new and unused full size, hotel, travel, or trial-sized items will be accepted through Dec. 16. Items such as: body wash, brush/comb, shampoo/conditioner, dental floss, deodorant, shaving cream/razors, toothbrush/paste, sunscreen, lotion, and other toiletry items are requested. Donation drop boxes are located at the Student Services Center Information Desk, First Year Experience (SSVC Room 204), Bookstore, MESA Office (Natural Sciences Building Basement), Financial Aid Lab (SSVC, second floor), and the Student Activities Center. A food pantry is in the planning stages and is expected to open, either on or off campus, in the spring 2017 semester. Students who need assistance should contact the El Camino College RISE Center at 310-660-3593, ext. 7800 (SSVC Room 213).
