Emergency Training: Feedback Requested
The college's Nov. 9 Campuswide Lockdown – Shelter in Place Exercise was one of several measures in the college's efforts to prepare for situations that may require this type of emergency response. The exercise focused on lockdown and sheltering in place, and was conducted with the ECC phone system, the blue pole speakers, Nixle and other communication methods. Please take some time this week to share feedback on this event via a campuswide survey. Please remember, safety is a priority at El Camino College. Campus safety personnel are available to make classroom presentations and answer any questions you may have. Contact the El Camino College Police Department at 310-660-3100 for more information.

Campus Safety Forums
Two Campus Safety Forums will be held for employees and students today. The first forum is scheduled from 1:00-2:00 p.m. in the Alondra Room. The second forum will take place from 6:00-7:00 p.m., and will also be held in the Alondra Room. Everyone is invited to attend and learn about the latest safety updates, both on and off campus. Representatives from public safety agencies including Torrance, Hawthorne, and Gardena police departments and the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department will participate and share information about the “mutual aid agreements” they have with the El Camino College Police Department. Information about how the different agencies communicate, partner, and train with ECC PD to prepare for emergencies will also be provided. Tips for traffic and holiday safety will be discussed. A question and answer period will follow the discussion. Comment cards will be available at the forums for attendees to provide suggestions or recommendations regarding campus safety.
