Students can now access free virtual mental health care services 24/7 through the TimelyCare platform. In-person mental health counseling sessions are always still available at the Student Health Center, but as a virtual extension of El Camino's mental health counseling resources, students can now access TimelyCare services at any time of day or night, every day of the week. Guest Lecture: The History We Stand On

Dr. Alison Rose Jefferson, author of "Living the California Dream: African American Leisure Sites during the Jim Crow Era," will speak about the proposed Gordon Manor residential project, once slated for the land now occupied by El Camino College.

Commencement Speaker for 2022 Announced

El Camino College recently announced a return to an in-person graduation ceremony and the commencement speaker for 2022. This year we are pleased to welcome alumna and accomplished news writer, editor, and manager Deyja Charles, who will address the Class of 2022 at the 75th Annual Commencement Ceremony scheduled for 4 p.m. Friday, June 10 in Murdock Stadium.

El Camino College will return to an in-person commencement ceremony this year, set for 4 p.m. Friday, June 10 in Murdock Stadium. Everyone is invited to celebrate our Warriors at the 75th El Camino College Commencement Ceremony.

California Community College LGBTQ+ Summit (May 4-5)

El Camino students are invited to attend the Fourth Annual California Community College LGBTQ+ Summit, an online event scheduled for May 4-5. This summit is a space for students, faculty, classified professionals, and administrators to collaborate with members of the California Community Colleges campuses at all levels and learn about innovative and successful ideas that allow campuses to better serve and affirm LGBTQ+ students.

Student/Alumni Photography Exhibition

The annual Student/Alumni Photography Exhibition runs through April 29 in the Library Lobby. The exhibit is titled "Light," and highlights a wide variety of work in film and digital images, ranging from beginning through advanced levels.

A Celebration of Chicano Culture

El Camino College's Center for the Arts will present a variety of events this spring, including a production of "Everybody," by Branden Jacobs-Jenkins. This play is a modern retelling of the 15th century morality play, "Everyman," and is an immersive, metaphysical experiment about the journey to death.


Students are invited to campus for an in-person Spring University Fair scheduled from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. April 26 on the Student Services Plaza. Representatives from more than 30 colleges and universities will be available to answer questions and provide information about transferring and campus life.

El Camino will celebrate Chicano heritage with several on-campus events this spring. All are invited to "A Celebration of Chicano Culture 2022." A variety of speakers and performers are part of the festivities, in addition to noted Chicano scholars and artists.

A grand reopening of the Warrior Closet featured a variety of free clothing for students, including professional and casual wear, children's clothes, accessories, and bedding items. The Warrior Closet opened in 2018 under the leadership of El Camino College financial aid adviser Sharonda Barksdale, with the goal to ensure that limited clothing did not hold students back from achieving their academic goals.

An afternoon highlighted by taiko drums and haiku readings helped ring in the spring season at last month's Cherry Blossom Festival. The annual "Dr. Nadine Ishitani Hata Memorial Cherry Blossom Festival" brought the college and community together to celebrate spring and friendship.
