ECC Secures HBCU Transfer Agreement Grant
El Camino College was recently the sole grant awardee of the competitive California Community Colleges Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) Transfer Agreement Project. El Camino will receive $2.9 million over five years to help improve student transfer paths with HBCUs.
Objectives of the grant include:
- Provide effective organization and governance to ensure the success of the HBCU Transfer Agreement Project.
- Provide effective HBCU partner relationship building, management, and oversight.
- Construct and maintain an effective statewide outreach campaign to involved stakeholders, including students, parents, high school and college counselors, instructional faculty, community-based organizations, and faith-based organizations.
- Form, participate in, and maintain strategic partnerships with other state and national groups with shared goals, such as Umoja, A2MEND, The Black Common Application, Black Expo, and HBCU Alumni Chapters, etc.
- Maintain necessary data infrastructure to collect, measure, and evaluate program outcomes in respect to the objectives.
