Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and California’s stay-at-home order, El Camino College is celebrating the 73rd Annual Commencement Ceremony virtually on Friday, June 12 at 4 p.m. Students, family and friends will have the ability to listen to the 2020 student speaker and watch Superintendent/President Dena Maloney and Academic Senate President Darcie McClelland present the Class of 2020 to the El Camino Community College District Board of Trustees.
The virtual commencement ceremony will also include a compilation of slides for each graduate personalized with quotes and photos (a link to the registration form was emailed to all graduates). You will have until Saturday, May 30 at 5pm PST to submit your photo and enter your personal message (your message may be edited for grammar and spelling). If you don't upload your photo and message by the 30th, you will not be included in the 2020 ceremony. You are still welcome to participate in the 2021 commencement ceremony.
We encourage you to wear attire appropriate for a graduation ceremony in your photo. Please consider lighting and the background in your image. And smile! Photos that capture graduates from the waist up work best. You’re welcome to wear your cap and gown from prior graduation ceremonies (high school, etc.). If you would like a cap and gown from El Camino to wear as you celebrate the ceremony from home on June 12, go to herff.ly/elcamino to order your regalia. Cap and gown orders generally ship in 5-7 business days. We cannot guarantee delivery by a specific date. All efforts will be made to ship your order quickly.
