DUI Awareness Fair

DUI FairAll are invited to attend the college’s inaugural Health and Safety Fair, scheduled for 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. April 3 on the Library Lawn.

The event will feature 20 booths equipped to offer info about various health issues and will run in conjunction with the 13th Annual El Camino College DUI Awareness Fair, set for 10:00 a.m. to 1: 00 p.m. April 3 on the Library Lawn. The DUI Awareness Fair gives students a look into the realities of driving under the influence. The fair features displays, workshops, and interactive demonstrations showing the dangers of driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. Scheduled just in time for Spring Break, the DUI Awareness Fair is designed to increase community awareness about the dangerous consequences that can come from driving under the influence, or getting into a car that is operated by someone under the influence.

The DUI Awareness Fair is sponsored by the ECC Police Department, along with the AVOID the 100 West DUI Taskforce. Members of 12 South Bay police agencies will be on hand to talk to students and provide valuable information about the dangers and consequences of driving under the influence. The work of El Camino College Police Department officers has been honored by awards from MADD; one ECC officer was recognized by the State of California for his outstanding performance in DUI arrests six years in a row
