Nursing Grant to Provide Student Scholarships

The ECC Nursing Department recently received a $2.6 million grant to provide scholarships for students in financial need. The grant is part of the Scholarships for Disadvantaged Students (SDS) Program, established via the Disadvantaged Minority Health Improvement Act of 1990. The purpose of the program is to increase diversity in the health professions and nursing workforce. Nursing students at both El Camino College and ECC Compton Center are eligible for the scholarships.
