Black History Month

Several free events are planned throughout the month of February as part of the college's annual Black History Month celebration. The festivities begin with an African-American lecture and art display featuring guest speaker and artist Fulton Leroy Washington from noon-2 p.m. Feb. 15 in the East Dining Room, followed by Black History Month Movie Night from 4-7 p.m. Feb. 20 in Distance Education Room 166. A "Black Excellence Networking Dinner" is next, where students will hear from a panel of black and African-American leaders, 4-7 p.m. Feb. 22 in the Student Activities Center, East Lounge. Black History Month concludes with a "Taste of Soul," noon-2 p.m., Feb. 27 in the Student Activities Center, East Lounge, featuring soul food and entertainment from the UC Riverside Nigerian Dance Association and more!
