Nearly a year into the pandemic, we continue to adjust to life in the era of COVID-19. New vaccines give us hope for a brighter future, and despite a somewhat rocky launch, people are becoming vaccinated at an increasing pace. Through an agreement with Curative (a contractor with Los Angeles County), vaccines are being administered in El Camino's Lot F. This is a positive step, but due to challenges such as supply chain difficulties and decentralized distribution, we are uncertain how many vaccines are available for future use, making planning difficult. Currently, under a phased system implemented by the state, vaccines are available by appointment for health care workers and those who are 65 and older. We will continue to keep you informed as the availability, timing, and nature of the vaccine changes. Look for informative resources from the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health and the Centers for Disease Control and other important resources and updates from our COVID-19 Task Force.
