The annual "Dr. Nadine Ishitani Hata Memorial Cherry Blossom Festival" brought the campus community together on April 5 to celebrate spring and friendship. This year's event featured original haiku poetry and dance presentations by ECC students, taiko drum performances from the Taiko Center of Los Angeles with Fuden Daiko of Italy, and the opening of the exhibit, "Concentration Camps U.S.A." in the ECC Schauerman Library. This display runs through April 30 and features selected materials on the Nikkei, or Japanese-American, gulag and diaspora during World War II as well as watercolors by CSUDH Professor Emeritus Don Hata.
