WHAT'S NEW?
A groundbreaking ceremony on April 16 marked the beginning of construction for the college's new Administration Building. The modern 27,000-square-foot, $16.9 million structure will be built along Crenshaw Boulevard on the site of the original administrative offices.
Building on the many collegewide efforts to support student success, ECC's inaugural First-Gen Initiative Conference is set for 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 27. Coordinated by the El Camino College First Year Experience Program and in partnership with many other student service areas, the conference offers an opportunity to learn about issues specific to students who are the first in their family to attend college.
Congrats to our ECC Honors Transfer Program students who recently broke records at the 18th Annual Honors Transfer Council of California Student Research Conference at UC Irvine. A record number of 40 students gave poster or oral presentations at the April 7 event that drew approximately 500 community college students from throughout the state to present original research.
A Town Hall meeting is set for 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday, April 19 in the East Dining Room. Everyone is invited to learn about the exciting changes happening at El Camino College. Topics include student support, academic pathways, construction plans, and technology innovations, in addition to time for questions and answers.
All ECC employees are encouraged to participate in the 2018 Employee Campus Climate Survey. Participation in this important survey will help the college learn about the campus and workplace climate.
