Safety Matters

The El Camino College community has access to a variety of resources available to help ensure wellness during these changing times.

TeleHealth and Services for Faculty and Staff

EASE has expanded its existing TeleHealth options that allow employees and their family members access to safe, free, and confidential support. Please consider using this resource for you or your loved ones. A recording of the online live presentation "Coping with Constant Change" led Dr. Emily Hernandez, executive director at EASE, is available for viewing at any time, offering excellent information and coping strategies for dealing effectively with change during COVID-19. Information on accessing the free mental health benefit available to all El Camino College employees and their children is available here https://www.lacoe.edu/Home/EASE and can be explained by contacting the confidential 24/7 EASE hotline: 800-882-1341.

ECC's Professional Development & Learning also offers the free webinar "Coping with COVID-19: Mental Health Tips for Children and Families," available for viewing anytime. This presentation from Keenan & Associates provides tips to help parents balance three roles: parenting, home schooling and working remotely.

Health and Wellness for Students

Student Health Services offers several virtual events for students; all currently enrolled students are invited to attend. Drop-in nurse practitioner consultation hours and drop-in mental health "check-ins" continue as well. Scheduled appointments for students are now available via a self-scheduling, HIPAA-compliant patient portal. Additional mental health and wellness resources for students are also available online. Please view the Student Health Services webpage for updates.
