We look forward to honoring the hard work, dedication and perseverance of the Class of 2020 at our annual Commencement Ceremony, which will be celebrated in a virtual format this year. This special event will bring together faculty, staff, students and their family and friends to celebrate student success, while also following protocols for physical distancing. The decision to move to a virtual format puts a priority on the health and safety of the campus community and was made after much deliberation and collegial consultation by the Commencement Committee.
The 73rd Annual Commencement Ceremony is scheduled for 4 p.m. Friday, June 12 and will be accessible via a link on the El Camino College website. The virtual ceremony will also include a compilation of slides for each graduate, complete with photos and quotes. All are welcome to join in and listen to 2020 student speaker Jenifer Tovar and watch Superintendent/President Dena Maloney and Academic Senate President Darcie McClelland present the Class of 2020 to the El Camino Community College District Board of Trustees. Members of the platform party, which includes college administrators, 2020 Distinguished Faculty honoree Jenny Simon and 2020 Distinguished Staff Breeanna Bond, will also be recognized during the commencement ceremony. Watch for updates on the El Camino College commencement webpage.
