Schauerman Library: New Services
The Library is offering a few new online EBSCO databases this year:
America: History & Life with Full Text is an important database that covers the history and culture of the United States and Canada, from prehistory to the present. More than 1,700 journals are indexed, and full-text coverage is offered for more than 230 journals and nearly 100 books.
Auto Repair Reference Center contains information on most major vehicle manufacturers and more than 37,000 domestic and imported vehicles dating back to 1945. The vehicle information includes specifications, maintenance schedules, technical service bulletins, recalls, step-by-step photographs, and wiring diagrams.
Book Index with Reviews is a comprehensive database that provides basic information on more than five million book titles in a wide range of formats, as well as multimedia materials such as DVD and sound recording titles. It also offers more than 800,000 full-text searchable reviews of the various titles included.
Consumer Health Complete is intended to meet patients' information needs regarding health and wellness. This database provides comprehensive content on a variety of health-related topics and includes access to up-to-date guides and similar publications on drugs.
In other news, the Library has dropped the Opposing Viewpoints in Context database subscription, but other databases that deal with controversial issues, CQ Researcher and Issues and Controversies, are still available. Also, the Library will continue to offer book titles in the Opposing Viewpoints series.
