SALUTE Veterans Honor Society

Chapter at El Camino College

Standards for election to SALUTE are extremely high. In joining, you become part of a highly academic achieving distinguished group. Members have served in all branches of the United States Armed Forces.

SALUTE is proud to include among its membership thousands of men and women who through military service, courage, strength, leadership, excellence, and perseverance in their military endeavors have sought to make a difference around the world and the community.

Tier Level System

The unique element of this honor society includes a four-tier system for undergraduate-level coursework, designed to encourage veterans to strive to improve their GPAs and advance to higher tier levels in the honor society during their undergraduate academic careers.

The tiers for undergraduate level students at El Camino College is: 

• Alpha tier – students with a grade point average between 3.75 and 4.0
• Bravo tier – students with a grade point average between 3.5 and 3.74
• Charlie tier – students with a grade point average between 3.25 and 3.49
• Delta tier – students with a grade point average between 3.0 and 3.24

Benefits

SALUTE members are eligible for one or more of the society’s grants and awards programs. The Society is proud of its record of helping members advance their education and serve their community through different programs.
